Moving forward: post-lockdown wishlists

Moving forward: post-lockdown wishlists

Almost everyone has been in a type of lockdown at some point this year, no matter where in the world you are. Working from home and limiting outside excursions has meant that we’ve built up a rather long list of all the things we’d like to do once we can get out and about again.

What are you looking forward to doing when you can travel, socialise and entertain beyond your home?

We asked some of our colleagues for their wish lists.

Nick, Content Marketing Manager

I’ve got quite a list of things I want to do when lockdown is lifted here in the UK. I’ve missed eating out so I can’t wait to go out and eat lovely food without any of the clean-up or just have a cold pint in a sunny pub garden in good company.

I also can’t wait to get a haircut; my barber has quite a bit of damage control to do following my DIY trims! I know I need to go clothes shopping too as very few of the clothes in my wardrobe fit following a 10-week lockdown!

Vicki, Buyer Operations Executive

The first thing I want to do is to go to my favourite summertime bar, Barge East in Hackney, with my friends, and sit by the river in the sunshine drinking 2 for 1 daiquiris.

The music will be playing and we will all be together again and that is something that I have missed so much. Nothing beats it!

Stephanie, Senior Hosted Buyer Executive

I am really looking forward to travelling! I need to go out of the daily life circle to refresh myself and just relax from the body to mind.

Bryony, Marketing Manager

As a National Trust member, I’m very much looking forward to returning to explore their wonderful collection of historic houses and beautiful gardens. I love to imagine what it would have been like to live in one of the amazing manor houses or to attend a party as a guest.

National Trust Property - Anne Hathaway's Cottage

My local National Trust property in Hampshire is The Vyne, a 16th-century estate and country house rich in history. I have to travel a little further afield to enjoy my absolute favourite National Trust property though – Waddesdon Manor. It’s a fairytale palace of a house, with inspiring art to be found both inside the house and outside within the grounds, which are always a treat to explore.

I can’t wait to go back!

Emily, Demand Marketing Lead

I can’t wait to go out for a nice meal. I have taken for granted being able to go to a restaurant and get a nice meal cooked for you, takeaways just don’t cut it!

Paul, Launches Sales Manager

I’m really looking forward to going to my local, The Ship in Wandsworth, so I can have a frosty one by the river with a couple of cheeky sorts!

Sophie, Marketing Manager

I’m looking forward to meeting my friends for our monthly bottomless brunch. Each month my friends and I choose a new brunch venue and we go and eat and drink too much and have lots of fun! I’ve really missed spending time with my friends and being able to try new brunch venues and tasty food.

Stables with horses

I will also be able to spend more time at the stables where I horse ride each week. Due to the lockdown and social distancing, I haven’t been able to help out as much at the stables so I’m really forward to getting back into it when lockdown is over! It’s a lovely way to unwind after a busy week at work.

Elena, Hosted Buyer Executive

The first thing I am going to do is work out, cause I ate too much at home and the gyms were in lockdown!

Maria, Business Development Manager

I’m really looking forward to going out more to museums, exhibitions, markets, travel, pubs, restaurants with family and friends. I can’t wait to meet more people and have fun, because that is what life is about.

Looking towards the future is an exciting prospect, especially when it has been hard to plan at all before now. It’s time to start considering what the future looks like and, more importantly, what you’d like the future to look like.

To support that, we’re announcing that “Inventing the Future” is the theme for our IBTM Asia Pacific show which will be taking place between 13-14 April 2021 in Singapore.

Our first invention for the future is our brand new website that we’ve just launched! With an exciting new look and feel, we’re excited to take this next step for our brand and take you with us.
