This year the ibtm world Technology and Innovation Watch seeks innovators and talented entrepreneurs with innovative ideas to showcase the future in action!

Since its creation, the Innovation Zone has always been a great showcase of the creativity, passion and drive needed to create real change within the meetings and events industry. Many young companies have had the opportunity to be part of the discussions, to uncover potential and to connect with the innovative and the influential.

Earlier this year, we caught up with our Innovators from EIBTM 2014, and we asked…

What changes to your business have occurred since being part of the Innovation Zone’s Top Ten at the show?

“The major change we made was to our income generation and we are now currently growing at a rate of 25% each month. We received a lot of support and insight from various organisations including Positive Impact (Event Sustainability Company). Being part of the Innovation Zone got us noticed by Shell who gave us £3,000 and the Shell Livewire Sustainability Award in December 2014 considering us to be a smart city solution for events. This has helped us to define our offering further and ensure that we always provide our clients with a professional service that brings the industry together.”

“We’ve cultivated relationships and established a number of new partnerships with people we met in the Innovation Zone. Moreover, direct feedback received in the Innovation Zone was very useful in developing new features for our customers.”

“We have got a lot of feedback and interest of potential customers for our core services, so most of our effort had been going into our real-time online portal where the organization can directly see the status of the program & the presentation uploaded anywhere in the world.

We also did a successful integration with partners like Parthen & Conference Compass for a medical conference where we connected all data into one stream. making it easy for our customer to manage and adjust through our portal (eliminating the need to enter the data for each solution provider individually). We will make this data-exchange format publicly available for the industry, which will be of great benefit for associations and PCO’s when they choose providers who have integrated this format.

We have also just finished two Medical Conferences in the Netherlands, and even have been in Kuala Lumpur to provide our services at a big food-related conference at the KLCC.

“Since the show, we have successfully launched our product and made our first sales.  We have booked the World Junior Ladies PGA golf tournament, the Toronto Jazz Festival and a large association conference in the US.”
